Everything is beautiful but everything is ugly. 

One minute you find yourself at peace on the train amongst the sea of strangers, the next, you want to murder the person next to you. 

Dinner was one hundred a person, or dinner was one dollar pizza night. 

You are completely enthralled in the social scene, yet the next night it feels lonely amongst the crowds.

Running a million miles a minute and yet time couldn't move any slower while waiting for the crazy lady in the check out lane at Duane Reade.

Dirty and sweating through everything trying to make a meeting on time, then dressed up to stay up all night. 

New York is the city of contradiction. 

A gorgeous contradiction when you sit on a friend's roof in the Bronx sharing drinks, the lights from the city glowing just across the way.
