Cutler and Gross

I spy Bianca Batson! Couldn't get much cuter. Cutler and Gross Street Swag

Killer Camo

Can't turn a blind eye to this trend- it has been popping up everywhere for high summer and early fall. Camo has been seen on the runway, through the likes of Marc Jacobs and Dries Van Noten, as well as on the streets, and definitely throughout this entire festival season. Pair your oversized camo jacket with a pair of creepers and you are all set to go. Maybe that will be what I wear to Lollapalooza this weekend?!? Shopping tip: if you don't want to spend $$$ go to your local army surplus store, they are bound to have heap loads of stuff for cheap. ( all images sourced from we heart it)

DIY Aritzia Bag: New Life

Tie some knots, and get coloring.

Does the landscape image look familiar? Grab some other images and decorate your walls!

If you are anything like me, finding keys in a purse is a lost cause. The handles from the Aritzia bag were bulky enough to make a knotted keychain, and with all the bright colors- easy to spot! The "We Miss You Already" sign was the cardboard stabilizer in the bottom of the bag... add a few beads, braid some kitchen twine and voila! See, doesn't the bag look better on your walls, doors, and in your purse as opposed to decomposing in a landfill? Perfect Saturday project.

I Wanna Do Bad Things With You

Last night I rewatching some of True Blood season one and I was reminded of how great the opening credits are for that show. The song is great, the sequencing sets the mood perfectly for the show.

Yo-Landi Vi$$er.

It girl of the week.  Lead singer, muse, and rapper of Die Antwoord, a South African rap/rave group. Her street style is something to gawk at, admire, and copy (good luck). Her style is so avante-garde it hurts... I love her. Ps- Check out her albino rat coat in the video, Evil Boy

One Hundred Teeth

Well looks like "bejeweling" has been around longer than we thought... how amazing is this? The world's oldest purse was recently discovered in a burial chamber in current day Germany. Over 100 dog teeth studded this bag- dated anywhere from 2500 to 2200 BCE. The leather has denigrated for the most part, though the dog teeth detailing stayed in tact. According to this article by National Geographic, dog teeth were more commonly used as hair ornaments and in jewelry. Dog teeth were used as  decorative elements for a period of time, alluding to the fact that fashion trends were prevalent long before Antoinette. Rad.

Best in the West.

I've been so bad at writing but this is a great inspiration piece to make up for it. Summer time anywhere in the States... you are bound to see the old west trend popping up here and there... a plethora of animal skins, geometrics patterns, big chunky belts, native influenced beading detail, feathers, and let us not forget a kick ass pair of leather cowboy boots.
